The Spirograph, the toy that has brought joy to millions of children around the world, is now available online and is called "Inspirograph", with all the advantages and precision of the virtual: no tacks to fix, no slips, no smudges, no disasters that #%#**∞%&& the whole drawing, no waste of paper.
You can choose the dimensions of the wheels or rulers, and the colors of the pencils and background. Handling is natural and the results precise. The line widens if you go over it a second and third time. You can even use the keyboard arrows if you're too lazy to use the mouse.
Of course, you can also download the results and display them in the gallery. The application is also available for mobile.
But you realize just how much manipulating these things actually involved practicing your fine dexterity: not too much pressure, regular and precise movement, perseverance, quality of assembly. Another kind of dexterity is being practised now. I don't know if I'd enjoy it as much, or for as long...
