The HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or Chinese Proficiency Test) Is a professional Chinese language exam. It allows to measure precisely the level of the candidate, whose first language is not Chinese.
Although English remains the first language in international international exchanges, Mandarin comes in a close second and sometimes takes the lead in exchanges between Asian countries.
The HSK is a Mandarin Chinese language exam, recognized and administered by the International Chinese Language Bureau (Hanban). This test is directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is intended for all non-native speakers of Chinese who wish to be able to work or study in China.
The HSK consists of two or three distinct parts depending on the level chosen: listening and reading comprehension for HSK 1 and 2, plus a writing test for HSK 3 to 6.
As the HSK is divided into language levels, each of these parts increases in difficulty depending on the level chosen. The number of exercises, the length of the assessment as well as the difficulty of the exercises indeed intensifies from HSK 1 to HSK 6.
