The Unesco Institute for Statistics (UIS) is a reliable source of progressive data on education. Education data are integrated into Sustainable Development Goal 4: "Ensure equal access to quality education for all, and promote opportunities for lifelong learning".
While data is generally reliable in different education systems, it is more difficult to compare. The challenge for the UIS is to produce useful, comparable data.
The data is available in detail for all countries in the form of summary tables. The site is not particularly ergonomic or standard, but with a little perseverance, it is possible to obtain data in all the following areas:
Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Education)
- Learning outcomes
Towards a new generation of internationally comparable data
- Out-of-school children and youth
Data to eliminate barriers to education
- Literacy
