Learning and autonomy

Denys Lamontagne helps educators develop their expertise around learning. Well aware of educational technologies and their transformative power, he follows their development in relation to fundamental learning principles.

Knowledge is about connections and evaluations in context. It is not so much a matter of accumulating more knowledge as of developing our capacities to observe, measure, judge and confront in order to increase our power of influence and responsibility.

It is this dynamic that he has been witnessing since 1996 at the direction of Thot Cursus.

Educator, training designer, writer, editor and entrepreneur, he graduated from UQTR in Physical Activity - B. Sc. and holds a teaching certificate from the MEQ (Ministère de l'éducation du Québec).

He began his career as a trainer and facilitator in 1976 and has never stopped experimenting with different approaches to learning, in presence or distance, alone or in groups.

He has published a few thousand articles and editorials and a few conferences and videos.

This one sums up his thinking "Directing your own training" and this article "From ignorance to knowledge: a policy to free yourself from obscurantism" presents the general orientation of Thot Cursus.
