Measuring attention remains a concern in many settings. Some work tasks are not very error tolerant. Here are a series of sample tests to measure attention in children and adults.

Artificial intelligence has long been associated with the science fiction genre. Whether in novels, films or TV series, the idea of an intelligence that equals, or even rivals, humans has always aroused fascination. But that would be forgetting that this narrative handle has often been the vehicle for a metaphor about our human predicament.
In this TED talk, research director Marc Attalah discusses how this beloved science-fiction theme reveals fundamental questions. It has generated debate and reflection. And if the authors don't know what the future will be like, perhaps their writings have painted a picture of our role in this generally dehumanizing future.
