Preparing for Heart Surgery
This series of informative and easy-to-understand medical literacy videos is designed for patients who will be undergoing cardiac surgery and the family members who accompany them. The content is presented in plain language and answers the most common questions health care professionals have about cardiac surgery before, during, and after - in the hospital and then upon returning home.
It was developed and approved by a team of multidisciplinary researchers in cardiac surgery, cardiology, medicine and nursing.

The last video in this series "After the Cardiac Surgery : Returning Home" discusses in more detail the return to normal life after surgery. Of course, you can't go back to doing everything as if nothing had happened. What should you expect when you return home after heart surgery? How can you take good care of yourself? What can you do? What emotions will you experience?
You may not know all the things you need to do to give yourself the best chance for a speedy recovery. This video will help you prepare.
