Practice your maths with NumberHive

Bees know how to multiply

NumberHive is a multiplication game that combines strategy and mathematics.

Principle

  • Two players compete against each other; the first to line up 4 cells of their color wins.
  • Each of the 66 cells contains a number from 1 to 144, randomly determined each time the game is played.
  • By multiplying two numbers, you can choose the alveolus you want, either to align your own alveoli, or to counter your opponent.

Where the game gets interesting is that you can only choose one of the two numbers to obtain the multiplication. For example, if our opponent has already lined up 3 cells and the fourth is an even number, I must avoid using an even number to get my number or I'll let him win, nor any of the numbers in a combination that would allow him to get the number in the cell he's missing, unless I can get it myself and block his way.

If our multiplication is not within the displayed numbers, we lose our turn. If our multiplication has already been chosen, we also lose our turn. In short, you have to know how to multiply if you want to have a chance of winning.

You can play against another player or against the machine. You can also create your own game board for your class.
