The effects of separation on children
How to avoid making things worse
Parental separation, while sometimes a good thing when the conflict between adults is intractable, is traumatic for children. Whatever their age, they will experience strong emotions. Toddlers will be afraid of being abandoned by a parent, children will feel guilty about the situation, and teenagers will sometimes resent the situation and the adults involved.
This should not be dismissed out of hand. Children need psychological security, i.e. the opportunity to express their grief, anger, anxieties and so on.
Especially as some of them will be rebuilding their families. This can be difficult, but when it happens harmoniously and smoothly, this new approach to the home can be just as beneficial as the traditional model, where tension persists.
Human beings are a gregarious species and, as the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. As a result, children can adapt very well to diverse family realities, provided they have the support of their parents and are physically and psychologically secure.
There's nothing simple about being a farmer. You have to plan your activities throughout the year, make sure you have the right machinery, maintain it and so on. All with a view to ecology. A serious French game seeks to teach agroecology.
Many serious games address the topic of sustainable development. Yet before such solutions were proposed, innovative people had to go against the social grain and fight to improve their environment. A humorous adventure game, hosted by the National Film Board, teaches children the attitudes they need to adopt to make a difference.
