Freesound : collaborative sound bank

Thousands of sound loops and atmospheres

Freesound is a collaborative sound bank. It is an initiative of the Music Technology Research Group of the Spanish University Pompeu Fabra.

Thousands of recordings can be found there, downloadable for free use.

The Freesound project aims to create a collaborative database of audio clips, samples, recordings, beeps, placed under a Creative Commons license. The Freesound project provides new and interesting ways to access these samples, allowing users to

  • scan the sounds in new ways using keywords, "noise-like", search type and more
  • upload and download to and from the database, under CC License
  • interact with fellow artists

From thunderous sounds to heartbeats, from looped music to sound experiments, from nature sounds to industrial ones, lots of sounds to listen to and use in one's productions.
