Free podcasts to learn European languages

Languages as spoken and understood by native speakers

Here is a directory of sites that offer free audio and/or video streams, or even simple recordings (without a subscription option) for learning English, French, Spanish, and other European languages.

Provided one has some autonomy in learning, one may find a reason to skip the tedious grammatical exercises and endless vocabularies in order to focus solely on the language as it is spoken and understood by native speakers.

Language teachers can also find interesting audio and/or video resources to integrate into lessons or to present to students as supplementary resources to the printed material.

The podcasts offered are for the most part French- and English-language resources that are easy to access.

      Collaborative database of audio files recorded by native speakers. Podcasts in English, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, French, Arabic, Occitan, Chinese and Portuguese. An initiative of the Académie de Versailles. A search engine allows you to make a query either by type of resource (language, level, voice, age, duration) or by simple keyword.
