This Veritasium video "The Most Useful Thing AI Has Ever Done" describes in detail how A.I. and those who control it are able to resolve seemingly insurmountable blocks of complexity, with the result of opening up whole new fields of possibility with every conceivable potential effect, both positive and negative.
The resources deployed by private companies like Google are immense, and within the reach of only a few. What's more, the consequences are so far-reaching and universal that it goes without saying that these results immediately revert to the public domain.
When an A.I. tool makes it possible to do things 100,000 times better, faster and more cheaply than the best previous techniques, we can only assume that there will be no turning back, and that all relationships will change. We are clearly entering a new era.
