Alternative farming practices: regenerative and economical

Reduce agriculture's ecological footprint and increase overall yields

While agriculture helps to feed the planet, it also contributes to making it warmer. Indeed, the industrialization of farming techniques is the cause of a great waste of water and carbon emissions into the air. Different techniques will have no choice but to be employed in the near future to avoid a catastrophe whose first victim will be the agrarian world.

Félix Noblia explains how he is experimenting with different processes. For his cow farm, he applies a dynamic rotational grazing system. By dividing the land into parcels, the animals always eat richer grass, leaving time for vegetation to renew itself elsewhere and for dung beetles to deal with the droppings, burying carbon in the soil.

When it comes to cultivating the soil, the farmer tries to combine crops before avoiding mechanization, which weakens the soil. Finally, for the vegetable garden, he uses plant cover which is then crushed by tarpaulins to nourish the soil and encourage vegetable growth with less need for water or fertilizer.
